Hi there 👋,
Microsoft has made our childhoods and work lives easier with the release of the Windows operating system, yeah.
Did you know Microsoft has a learning resource platform called Microsoft Learn.
I'm sure this is your first time because your friends might have stumbled upon it and It was too good so they never shared it to you. Sorry about that 😅.
I'm Aikins and I love sharing so let's get into the apples Microsoft is sharing, nerds!
The Microsoft Learn website is a really huge dock of information ships which it provides for free. You get to learn different skills related to different technologies. Each course (path) is designed as a module, in each module, there are different lessons and exercises.
🫁 Take a deep breath to consume all of that.
Let's take the Python Course. The beginner modules.
Here, you're taken through the beginning of python, what it is and what it's not.
Take your first steps with Python
This is where you're taken through the processes involved in writing basic python applications with the basics of the syntax / rules and then you write your first python app.🤓
Set up your Python beginner development environment with Visual Studio Code
After you know a little bit about python, you are taken through installing an IDE, integrated development environment, where you write the code to build your app professionally. This IDE is called, Visual Studio Code. You'll hear developers say vscode (vee-ess-code) most of the time.
This is where you get a wider intro to python. Then you move on to controling the flow of your program with the Branch code execution with the if...elif...else statement in Python module.
Python is really good at working with strings, so Microsoft guides you through that with the Manipulate and format string data for display in Python.
🫁 Another pause to take a really deep breath. For the math
Perform mathematical operations on numeric data in Python, I can't explain it much 🥶. Don't mind me, it's not that scary!
We wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for math hence python allows that and Microsoft takes use through how.
And then you learn to Iterate through code blocks by using the while statement.
"Wait Aikins, are you going to take me through the whole course when I could just go there and learn" — no!
Thanks for reading and I hope my lil article helped you find skills and improve on your existing knowledge. Happy learning 😃. I can't wait to see the developer you become.💜
